Do you wanna build a snowman?

Hi there friends are you ready for a new challenge #41 at Lavinia World? We are anything goes and you could win a gift card to spend at the shop...who does not like to get new goodies to play with?  These stamps are so much fun to play with and they are so versatile.  

I was inspired by one of my DT sisters to make this snowman...who would have thought to use the Fairy Orbs as a snowman???? You know you can find lots of inspiration from our amazing You tube channel  .  I changed my snowman up a little, I cut his hat, scarf, nose and arms with my Cricut.  I colored the orbs in with a water color pen and then added Glossy accents to them.

Zelith the beautiful mermaid

 Happy Thursday all!  I am very excited to announce that I am now a member of the Lavinia World Design team.... we have a new challenge starting today so be sure to join in the fun.... the winner of the challenge will receive a $15 gift certificate to spend at Lavinia World .

To create this picture I started with Alcohol inks on an 8 x 10 piece of Yuppo  paper, I did the drip process and then dabbed alcohol ink around the edges and different areas until I got the effect I wanted. I then applied the lift ink and transferred to Hammermill Premium color copy cover paper.  I always stamp my focal image first and then work from there.  When I had everything stamped I then took some Tim Holtz distress crackle paste and added some bubbles with the stencil on the edges. I added some Wink of Stella to the crackle paste and glitter to her tail.  On the seaweed I added some rhinestones.

I made my background using alcohol inks, Teakwood, Terra Cotta, Mermaid and Indigo.

I used various different colors of Nuvo drops in the center of the moon pods for color and dimension.  I added a little glitter to her wings and the orbs.

A special moment!

                                                  

Hi there are you ready for the big weekend?

I am so excited to be a guest designer

for Lavinia World! These stamps just allow me to escape into a world all of their own!

I love creating the backgrounds for these cards.  This background was created using Brusho's purple, yellow and turquoise on a gelli plate. I then take an A2 size piece of watercolor paper and press it on the gelli plate, I let it dry for a bit and proceed to create my scene.

I always stamp the main images first and then build from there. I have used the following stamps for this scene.

Ariel (small)

Rory (Rory & Darcy set)

Fairy buttercups

Fairy Hive set

Twisted Vine set

Berry Leaves

I used 3 VersaFine Clair inks on this card,

Monarch, Nocturne and Twilight.

When everything is stamped I take a piece of round cardstock and place it where I want it and just ink off of the cardstock to create the moon.  I then took a glue pen and went around the edge and then added glitter

I blend my inks with the Picket Fence Studios Blender brushes.

I always finish the edge of my card by inking them a little darker.

Wishes turn into dreams

This is what I have been doing in my spare time while

being on quarantine so to say!

It's beginning to look like Christmas

Hi there all, hope you are doing well!  Today I am sharing a Christmas card I made

using the amazing Lavinia stamps. It seems that this guy just flew off the shelf

at 7 kids crafts but you can get him here.  I have used the small reindeer and the fir tree.

I used Salty Ocean distress oxide inks for my background I dabbed it on my craft mat, then spritzed water on it, rolled it with a brayer and then pressed the cardstock on it.  I let it dry and then  used Versa Fine Claire Inks to finish the background.  Then I stamped the images and added the sentiment and then added glitter for the effect of snowflakes.

Mixed Media Altered frame and Lavinia stamps

Happy Thursday all!

It has been awhile since I have posted to my blog however I am hoping it will be a little more frequent in the future!  I have been working on my online store
Cardsbycharlene as my retirement date is nearing♥

I am sharing a mixed media frame I did with the amazing Lavinia stamps!

These stamps caught my eye awhile ago and I had to cave and start playing with them.

I have used 4 of their stamps in this scene...Willow the witch, Bats, Seasonal Tree, and Fairy Web.

I took a gold frame and applied black gesso, and then used art alchemy waxes .  I used the Versa Fine Clair inks for the background of the image, except for the yellow it is a chalk I had. Most of the supplies  I used for this project are from 7 Kids Craft Store.  I stamped the cauldron twice and then made a little slice in the top and put a little cotton to give the effect of the steam.
