We are "Old Sames"

Good Thursday evening to you all...wow what a week here and the temps are still over 110 !  I tell you I am over summer and the humidity, sure could use some nice fall days !  Do you like to read ?  Well there is a new book club called "Bookendz" and we are reading a new book every month !  For the month of August we are reading "Snow flower and the Secret Fan" by Lisa See .... what a great book about friendship, culture, love and betrayal.  What an eye opener to just how lucky we are as women to live in the USA....so if you want a can't put it down book go check this out.

I made a "Tri fold shutter" card, as I thought it would be perfect to showcase my to images.  I have used Chinese Tilda and you and find her at Magnolia-licious she is in stock and there is also a mini if you are interested.  The little Big eyed image in the back is a digi "Chibi Japan" from the "Greeting Farm" .  My DP's are from a stack called "Global Views"  I have to say I think this is one of my favorite cards to date...and a first for me in coloring black hair since my class with Suzanne.  The little Chibi image was actually in the trash :) as her hair looked horrible but I took her out and kept working with her and the colorless blender and I am happy with the end result.
The inside of my card is the verse from Jer. 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you, plans for welfare to give you hope and a future"  This card is going to a very special young lady in our family that is going to college studying language and want to do missions in China and teach English and the love of Christ.....I am so proud of you Emily !

My image is colored with copics...
Blacks - C1, 3, 5, 7, 9
Tilda's dress - RV0000, 91, 93, 95
Browns E30, 33, 35, 37
Chibi dress - YR20, 21, 23, 24
Skin E00, 000 and R20

Little cherry blossom embellishment is from Recollections,  and I used the "Labels 5" from Spellbinders.

Challenges:
Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenges - shaped card
City Crafter's - Best of Friends..my card is based on 2 friends
Paper Take Weekly - Dies to die for
Bookendz group - Friendship/Asian
Tuesday Throwdown - dimension and texture

That will do it for me today thanks for stopping by!
Hugs ♥

  10. Charlene, your tri-shutter card is gorgeous. It's been a while since I made one, and you make me want to go tomy craft room and do one right now...LOL. Beautiful DP's that you have. Adorable Tilda and Chibi and your colouring of them is fab. Great job in colouring the black hair--that's the one that I struggle with the most. Terrific job in putting this card together. Love it.

  18. Beautiful tri shutter card, great colors too. Love the black hair! But, the Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenge requires you to use an animal as the focal point of your card along with the monthly theme.
